I have a Netgear R6250, I attempting to upgrade from v3 37305 to 40189.

I upload the firmware; I get the "await" graphic, which stays indefinitely. The 1st time I tried to upgrade, I let information technology sit that manner for a week. The second time, about 24 hours.

Both times, the GUI, telnet, etc all stop working, merely traffic continues to menstruum without issue. Eventually, I ability cycle the router & it all comes back up, merely remains at 37305.

Ideas?
thanks

Before upgrading reset to defaults, afterward upgrading reset to defaults by telnetting into your router and do:
Code:
nvram erase && reboot

Put settings in manually practice non restore from a backup.

I recall your router is also supported by Kong's builds see: https://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-Air-conditioning-Arm/
Take a look in the supported models file in that directory: https://www.desipro.de/ddwrt/K3-Air conditioning-Arm/Supported%20Models

As yous are having a Broadcom router you lot should post these questions in the Broadcom forum.

If it still isn't taking, attempt `nvram erase` followed by CLI install, or a different build (afterwards check the new build threads), or finally TFTP.

Y'all don't have to look over 15min to wink anything, btw. Wink

Thanks; I'll try erasing everything... Not the near ideal selection.
FWIW Kong's build just reported "failed" when I tried to update using it. (but I had non all the same erased the firmware)

Will attempt after today...

thank you

37305 was around the time when upgrading via the spider web GUI was broken. Only perform the upgrade from the command line and you should be back in business.

(retentiveness from my own annotate > 37405 thread... considering I was running 37305 during that upgrade)

If you're selecting 'reset to defaults' when you wink and upgrade, don't. It is broken since around 36168. IT was working for me prior to that, and I oasis't checked it since.

Thank you;
even clearing out settings 1st, all the same wouldn't take an update...

using command line got it updated.

I can't remember if bumping from 37305 to 37405 hung for me or non. I had pretty much quit resetting to defaults prior to that, anyway. Glad it all worked out. Hopefully, the next webflash upgrade doesn't hang for you lot.

Can ostend here that both 37305 and 36698 exhibited this behavior when attempting to update via Chrome, only non via Edge.

One time I got to 40559 (my destination build), I was able to successfully update via Chrome again. Appears the issue was limited to at least builds 36698-37305.
